Build Your Own House

I'm just wondering how you guys got realistic figures for your build for the Building Certificate application.

Any tips?

i just worked out a very rough single page on my pc then printed 3 copies as everything is in triplicate to council.but basically i put down rough estimates if i didnt have quotes the list i included which passed council was as follows:
foundations,floor,frame,roof trusses,cladding,windows,doors,roofing/guttering,plumber,electrician,heating,cooling,garage,landscaping,driveways,paths,plasterer,painter,carpet,tiles,kitchen,bathrooms,laundry,toilet,insulation,fittings,tools,lights and finally a very big budget for miscellaneous

i guess what their looking for is that you have a basic understanding of the works your carrying out. my budget to council was around the 80 grand mark so not huge and be honest if you think you can do something cheap then put down your price i only put down 3 grand for foundations but we are doing all the work and its going to be under that figure.
