I am just about at lock up stage with my straw bale house (pictures will follow shortly).
Due to budget blowout and other factors it looks probable that I will end up selling the house when it is finished.
I have found out that I am now required to take out warranty insurance to protect the purchaser against any defects occurring within 7 years from completion. the insurance costs about $2000.... BUT .... It still means that I am personally liable for the cost of repairs except where the work was carried out by a licensed (and insured) contractor.
Anybody had any experience with this issue. Does this mean that owner builders face big problems if they need to sell up?
Regards
Mr Toad
