Some photos I took a few weeks ago of this house in North Fremantle. It was open for the Open Gardens season. The garden is pretty fab if you are into natives, but of course I was there for the architecture. This is one of the most ambitious and beautifully finished owner builder jobs I have ever seen, concrete poetry:

They had a lot of trouble getting it through council, and the neighbours were up in arms. I remember at the time it was in the local community newspaper almost every week. It is actually a renovation, although you would be hard pressed to pick the original single story 70's brick building under it.
