Hi,
Congrats on making the start & good luck with the project. I have received nothing but kind words and inspiration from fellow members on this site and I've only gotten as far as buying the block! Everyone is different with differing needs and ideas; I'm planning on a 10 x 20m Barn with straw bale in -fill and have copped quite a bit of flack about the size of the house and strawbale on a bush block but fellow byohouse-ers have been great & very inspiring. :D It looks like you've researched your house well, great ideas on tanks & PV so you're doing your bit for the earth [and cutting down on the bills too  ] so I wish you well with it and look forward to seeing a few photos in due course. . . .

Anne

HEY brett hope you havnt been scared off id love to hear more about your project.believe me if your owner building your gonna need pretty thick skin there are more negative then positive attitudes towards it but each to their own. im loving the process even the bad bits now that weve gotten a little further the comments are now more like geez didnt think youd get that far lol . you just have to laugh i dont think anyone meant to sound negative just concerened and sometimes blogs can be misinterpreted without one on one speech.
anyway i hope you keep the blog up it really will help and inspire others to do the same.

Thanks for the support guys. To each there own I suppose . OK as of today, tempory power on site, formworkers started boxing up for raft slab and 72 tonne of crusher dust delivered for under slab. Drainage under slab underway and slab pour date is last week of October. Blocklayers booked for 2nd week November and top floor to hopefully poured before Xmas. Only hiccup so far is that blocklayer decided to up his price before starting so was quickely told to stay home. Found another at old price within a day. All good.
Cheers
Brett

wow that's enormous, how much is your slab costing??? I know it's probably rude to ask but we're thinking a minimum of $13000 and our place will only be 7*12m.....

How good does your site look???? FANTASTIC how exciting
